Football coaches often borrow ideas from their peers.

In Week 6, the New Orleans Saints scored a 2-yard touchdown on a jet sweep by tight end Coby Fleener. Three weeks later, the Detroit Lions used the same play to score a 1-yard touchdown with tight end Eric Ebron, who admitted his team stole the idea from the Saints.

In the 2008 postseason, Arizona Cardinals offensive coordinator Todd Haley used a trick play he learned from Sean Payton when they were both assistants with the Dallas Cowboys from 2004-05. The result was a 62-yard yard touchdown pass that helped the Cardinals beat the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC championship and advance to the Super Bowl.

People often say the NFL is a copycat league. When a team does something successful consistently, other teams try to mimic it in search of good results.

When the Saints face the Cardinals Sunday, Sean Payton will see a coach he's tried to copy at times because Arizona head coach Bruce Arians is one of the top offensive minds in the league.
