Saints are back in the top 10 draft picks after Rams loss (4 Viewers)

The old roster narrative is false.

16/32 to start the season. That's not old, that right in the middle being skewed by a few older players. The rest of the roster is young.
But how many are legit starters? I don’t see many. Bad drafts and letting players walk has got us here and the only way out is by the draft, if someone could just make good picks!!!!!

They will win just enough games to fall into the 11-15 range and miss out on a blue chip prospect. We’ve all seen this movie before

The more you think about it….how close are the Saints going to be to drafting a future starting hopefully franchise QB. I’m starting to fall into that mindset of trading up to grab that future QB. Do the Giants go with Sanders or Cam!? Hopefully Sanders and we move up for Cam…I mean it’s an option or do we stay in 7-10 land forever!?!? Sometimes you have to take the chance and move up.

If you want a QB in this draft, Drew Allar is probably your best bet and can be had in the 2nd or late 1st. He had a solid year in 2023, and this year is getting it done with one of the worst college offensive lines in football (albite, barely).

Quite a lot of them actually. We're having a coaching issue, where our coaches are not putting the players in the best chances for success. We're seeing this on offense and defense.

Sunday's game was among the ones I had penciled in at the start of the Rizzi era as a loss anyway. At the end of the day, Stafford > Carr and it showed.

My prediction still stands for the final record, 6-11. We'll beat the Giants and the Raiders, but lose the rest. And a top-10 position in the first round, which ain't bad at all.

This team needs to focus on drafting impact skill position players on offense without health issues and big program production. Like I have been saying for 3 seasons of offensive mediocrity. If we can’t score points or make momentum shifting impact plays on a regular basis…. All of the fat boys in the world won’t save us.

It's really anybody's best guess as to BPA of Edge, DT, WR, CB, TE
The problem is, is that we need all of those 5 guys in one year. If we add one per year, by the 5th year, we'll have to replace 3 more positions of need. So the trick is, how do you make up ground quickly?

Through draft capital and double dipping on some positions. We currently have 8 picks, 4 in the top 100 and 6 in the top 125. This draft might not be great at QB, but it has quite a few players at positions we need.

well, we normally try to find patches in FA to lessen the "need" on paper. But you can't just assume only 1st rounders can fill voids. You can't miss on whomever and hope you find some diamonds in lower rounds. Kamara's, Michael Thomas, Marcus Williams, Adebo etc... you have to hit in the 2nd -4th rounds.

By loading up on one side of the ball and living with the other. Very few teams are very good offensively and defensively. You typically have to be great on one side and wish for some luck on the other.

I will vote offense every time…. But that’s just my preference. I’d rather watch a 35 - 28 game where you have a chance…than a 14 - 9 game where you lose hope of scoring by the 8 min mark in the fourth quarter

Scarred by the Mora years.

Not concerned about the draft position. Just don’t trade up when the team has MULTIPLE NEEDS. IDC if Round 1 is a WR, OL, DL. All of those are DESPERATE needs. They also need RB (since Miller is Missing in Inaction), S, TE, LB (DD coming to the end).

Maybe one of the cap experts here can suggest another way out of this mess besides a stellar draft. I don’t see one, and the team right now has a good number of picks. Let’s take advantage of those picks and have a repeat of the 2017 draft in terms of quality.

Saints need another big time linemen.

Need to not be players in free agency
Need to unload in the off-season.

It's time to suck for Manning.. and have him come in with an Oline that he can grow with.

🤷 it's a no brainer and a decade plus of winning football again. He's got lots of uncle input and potentially they may even QB coach OC for him who knows.
