Last week vs Seattle on first down.
-22rushes for 63 yards 2.9 yards a carry.
-9/10 for 122 yards passing 12.2 a pass
Also the Saints were 9/15 on 3rd down and if you had the 2 flags on 3rd down so the Saints were really 11 of 17 on 3rd down. The Saints were also 11 of 17 on 3rd down vs San Diego, plus a 4th down td pass in that Game. That was game where they ran 22 times on first down and only passed 8 times on 1st down.
Some people will look at the 34/38 and 35/37 run pass ratio in those 2 games and credit balance for winning the game. When in truth it was the Saints converting 65% of there 3rd downs on both games. Usually when you convert 65% of 3rd downs you should win going away, not need a defense to make last minute stand to win. 34 rushes for 83 yards and 34 rushes for 95 yards if you take away hightower one 28 yard run is putting way too much pressure on your QB
And there kansas city game where the Saints were down 2 scores in the 2nd half and there playing like there ahead. When Ingram fumbled they had 14 runs to 13 passes in the 2nd half taking so much time off the clock, that they only had 4 meaning fulls possesions for Brees to com from behind. And even in the San Diego game down 2 scores in the 4th quarter, Payton was taking his time calling plays. Even after they get the fumble at the SD 13, down 2 scores they still no hurry to score, as they run the ball 3 times before Brees get one chance to keep the Saints by throwing a TD pass on 4th down. But they took over 2 minutes off the clock when they need all the time left on the clock.
Now compare that to the Patriots who get the ball at there own 10 at the Start of the 4th quarter up 21 points last week vs Buffalo. There taking deep shots, Empty formations throwing the ball all over the field, snaping the ball with 12 to 15 seconds left on the play clock. They playing more aggressive at faster tempo up 3 scores the Saints were down 2 scores vs Kansas city and San Diego.
