Looking to reach Super Bowl form, the Saints brought in a familiar face last offseason to try to elevate one of their position groups long thought to be the franchise’s Achilles' heel. Coming off a Super Bowl campaign with the Eagles, headlined by his four regular-season picks despite just eight starts, cornerback Patrick Robinson was ready to finally solidify himself as a true game-changer.

A year later, he’s still searching for that opportunity, after a broken ankle against the Falcons in Week 3 stole the bulk of his 2018 season with the Saints. He’s back for the 10th year of his career and second of his four-year, $20 million deal, and eager to do anything and everything to return to his original form.

Five days into training camp, health isn’t the issue as much as missing out on months of crucial in-game reps. His ankle is good as new, but its effect on his career still lingers.

“I feel a little rusty,” Robinson said Tuesday. “But I feel myself getting back into good shape right now, just trying to do what I’ve got to do to be the best that I can and compete real hard to do what the coaches are asking of me.”...
