NEW ORLEANS — Considering they won the NFC South title and earned a first-round bye for the upcoming playoffs, it’s going to be a Happy New Year for the New Orleans Saints.
So what’s next?
Before they turn their attention to the postseason, the Saints (10-6) will enjoy a three-day break from the field from coach Sean Payton despite their 31-21 loss to the Carolina Panthers in the regular-season finale on Sunday.
With nothing to play for, the Saints rested many of their starters and pulled most of the others in the final three quarters of Sunday’s loss to the Panthers.
