I was looking at Franchise tag not transition tag. Transition tag is not used very often at all. But from what the Google says transition tag is 23 mil. What to much of a 2019 cap hit.

I’d like them to go the cheap QB backup route this year and save the QB pick for the 2020 draft or go the free agency route with guys like Russell Wilson that could be available...2020 seems like the year to go after a legit replacement

Doesn't make sense to me with our tight cap. The only way I see us keeping Bridgewater is if Brees is committed to retiring after 2019 and we sign Bridgewater for 3-4 years. Make his cap number around 10mil this year and have it account for the rest over the next 2-3 years.

Just wondering if an argument could be made that if we tag TB he would be paid the avg of the top 5(or 10) BACKUP QBs? Since that is a different position than starting QB.
