Saints cut Jared Cook and Josh Hill (1 Viewer)

We used to be so good at the TE position. I guess we figure we don't need any anymore.

A lot of very good tight ends will be available in the third and later rounds in the draft simply because of the position they play. Josh Hill was a one dimensional blocking Tight End. Jared Cook lost his edge after the 49ers cheapshotted him. The Saints are saving money and will be upgrading the TE position group.

Hill was probably a tough one for Payton---UFDA that sticks for 8 years?

Or was this a cost cutting move & he could be brought back?

Are we under the cap yet? šŸ˜‚ I hope they can restructure Malcolm Jenkinsā€™ contract. Itā€™s pretty heavy. I wonder if PRob will be released also.

Not sure thereā€™s going to be much of a market for Hill or Cook. Could Easily see one back. Maybe even both.

The question will be, when it comes time to restructure him, does he sign off on being a Joker long term.
He's not getting any younger. At 30, he's already "approached the hill" for some offense positions.

He should just go TE/H-back and extend his career another 6 years or so.
