I don't care what anybody says, O-Line being what it is, this is still a very talented team. And Payton will scheme to help the offensive line. I can't wait for this season!
I hope Payton's scheme is to get Sitton on this team. We are woefully weak on the Oline.

I'm disappointed that Allen couldn't make it, but Unger's extension makes it very understandable. I'm very happy that Turner and the young CBs made it.

Tull was one of the real disappointments of the preseason.

I think the coaches thought he would give them a good edge rusher. However, he had little impact in the preseason games. If they still think he has potential, he could be added to the PS.

The 2015 draft isn't looking too good right now.

Tull and Kikaha were drafted to play OLB in a 3-4 defense. Remember, we decided we were switching to a 3-4 that year, and we drafted accordingly. Then we decided to switch back to a 4-3 and Tull was no longer a good fit. He was too small to play 4-3 defensive end. Kikaha is also undersized, just not as undersized as Tull. Neither are ideal fits at 4-3 DE.

I talked about him not fitting into our new system before camp even started, I think it was AARPSaint that agreed with me (here). Some players fit a 3-4 and some fit a 4-3. You switch defenses and they no longer fit....doesn't mean they aren't good players. Just means they aren't ideal for what defense we want to run.

What we were talking about is the fact that we've switched from a 3-4 to a 4-3 several times over the last few years, and that means we keep wasting draft picks at OLB and DE, because the kind of athlete you need is very different for either system. Pick a system and stick to it, or you wind up with a lot of players/draft picks that don't fit.

So the deck was stacked against Tull as soon as we decided to switch back to a 4-3. What I'm saying is drafting Tull looked like a good pick, when we were going to play a 3-4, but he was doomed as soon as we switched to a 4-3. So don't blame the draft pick, blame the flip flopping of are we gonna run a 3-4 or a 4-3.

Ahh, found it:

It seems to me they drafted Kikaha and Tull when we were going to play a 3-4, but they don't fit so well, now that we are going back to a 4-3. We need to pick a base defense and stick with it, you can't keep drafting players to fit one scheme, and then changing the scheme.

Tull had a lot of potential playing a 3-4, and now he may not even make the team because we're playing a 4-3.

Ok, now that the cuts are done, here comes the BIG question

.....does Von Bell change from that god-awful #48?!

Sitton to Seattle?

That tweet Holder cites is from 2014.
