I figured the New Orleans Saints wouldn't necessarily play lights out defensively on a weekly basis like they did against the New York Giants in Week 2.
But who would have thought the Saints' second-best defensive outing of this early 2016 season would have been in Week 1 against Oakland? The Saints surrendered 35 points (22 in the fourth quarter) and 486 total yards in that implosion.
The days of defensive depression quickly returned for the Saints in front of all the world to witness Monday night. New Orleans' defense looked about as poor of a group as I've watched in the past few seasons in a 45-32 loss to the Atlanta Falcons in a nationally televised game at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
