On the 10th anniversary of the Domecoming game, it looked like the New Orleans Saints might receive an emotional lift to help them post their first victory of 2016.
Instead, the nationally televised Monday night game provided a reminder that the Saints severely lack talented depth on defense as they lost, 45-32 to the Atlanta Falcons and fell to 0-3 for a second consecutive season.
The Saints appeared to start strong as rookie wide receiver Michael Thomas caught a 3-yard touchdown pass on the opening drive. Then, the defense — despite having four starters inactive — forced a three-and-out when the Falcons offense took the field.
