I was looking at the Saints draft history in the 1st round over the last 10 years to see if anything can be taken from that.

Over the last 10 years the Saints have a serious draft trend they draft RBs or big men. Since 1997 the Saints have drafted 7 lineman, 3 RBs and 2 WRs. It seems that they like to spend their 1st pick on front line players.

What does this mean for this year, don't be surprised if they trade up and take a DT or stay at 10 and take Kentwaln Balmer or Patrick Sims.

2007: WR Robert Meachem
2006: RB Reggie Bush
2005: OT Jamaal Brown
2004: DE Will Smith
2003: DT Jon Sullivan
2002: WR Donte Stallworth, DE Charles Grant
2001: RB Deuce McCallister
2000: DE Darren Howard [2nd round]
1999: RB Ricky Williams
1998: OT Kyle Turley
1997: OG Chris Neaole
