COSTA MESA, Calif. — There are plenty of positives for the Saints and Los Angeles Chargers holding joint practices for a third straight summer.
The two teams are playoff-level clubs and combined for 25 wins last season, so there aren’t many better measuring sticks to see where one stands than to work out with each other.
And there’s nothing wrong with going head-to-head in team drills in temperatures that hovered in the mid-70s in the late morning and into the early afternoon for the team from The Big Easy.
“I got cold when I was sitting on the side,” running back Latavius Murray said after Thursday’s practice. “We don’t have that problem back in Louisiana, so I guess it felt good.”
Quarterback Drew Brees agreed.
