Saints-Falcons game could produce NFL Rules Change: Mercy Rule (1 Viewer)

Atlanta is a GOOD team. A very good team that is capable of beating us. At 6-0, we ARE NOT the juggernaut that the Patriots were when they were undefeated.

I am not saying that the Falcons are better than us or that they will win. But teams in the NFL (especially within the division) are not just going to roll over when they see the Fleur De Lis on the helmets.

Even though the come from behind victory vs. the Dolphins was AWESOME, it shows that we are BEATABLE. What happens if Ted Ginn catches the ball instead of bobbling it into Darren Sharper's hands? WHat happens if Colston's catch at the end of the half was correctly called and the clock runs out?

Then again, we're just fans, right? We can eat the cheese as long as the players aren't...

I agree with a lot of this...I do think that we're closer to the juggernaut the Pats were than you think we are, with our offense, but I VERY MUCH agree that the Falcons can beat us. We're by far the better team, but when you get to these divisional rivalries, ANYTHING can happen. When I was in college, LSU was headed to the Orange Bowl, and lowly Tulane comes into Tiger Stadium and beats them...when there's a strong rivalry, there's an 'X' factor that goes beyond "who is the better team". Falcons could very well be playing over their heads because this could be their Super Bowl...gunning for the undefeated division rival Saints in their house. Saints need to be on their toes...and if they are, Falcons don't have a chance.
