The New Orleans Saints signed rookie defensive end Carl Granderson after the 2019 draft despite his pending sexual assault case in Wyoming. Trial is scheduled July 15, according to the Casper Star-Tribune.
Saints coach Sean Payton addressed the news media Saturday (May 11) for the first time since the draft, which ended April 27, and explained why the team pursued Granderson even with the legal issue.
“We felt real comfortable with everything we knew, and so far he’s done a good job here," Payton said after the second day of Saints rookie minicamp. ...
