What will the New Orleans Saints do with all of this salary cap space? They rarely go into the summer with more than enough spare funds to sign their rookie draft class, but for now, the Saints are credited with about $9.43 million to burn. While that still ranks within the bottom-10 in cap room, it’s nearly double what they usually have to work with.

With their 2020 training camp approaching closer every day, time is running out for the Saints to add more quality additions. With free agents like Jadeveon Clowney and Logan Ryan still searching for new teams, it’s understandable for fans to be on the lookout.

But the Saints might prefer to work on deals in-house, especially if the 2021 salary cap is expected to drop due to revenue lost amidst the novel coronavirus pandemic. Their list of 2021 free agents includes All-Pro talent in Demario Davis and Alvin Kamara, with veteran starters such as Jared Cook and Marcus Williams also in the mix.
