That's one way to look at it.....but it seems the consensus that Gayle did the deed and not Loomis.....

The other way to look at it is once again the Saints held onto an obviously incompetent HC and wasted 3 years, that the fans had to suffer through.....

Here's to finding another competent HC soon!!!!!!

If Gayle made the call, that actually should have fans feeling much better about her and ownership.

People can spin it however they want, the consensus on this board was that the team wouldn’t make a change and Allen would even be back next season.

Saints hired a guy they knew well and fired him when it was clear the team was headed back in the wrong direction. That’s pretty typical of how these scenarios play out.

Loomis being the executor of Gayle Benson's will almost guarantees he doesn't get fired, not in the normal sense of getting fired anyway. More than likely he will move to a different executive role on the business side or he will be allowed to retire
I would assume that could be changed right?

Hard to be a good OC when DA let the entire team implode beneath him. We all know Rizzi isn't THAT guy, so I'd like to see what Kubiak can do without DA. Worst case is you fire him with the new staff that comes in, no? At least you can say you tried.
Yeah, I understand your reasoning. I just feel like the offense has been really, really bad. If you'd have asked me what I wanted to do after the second game, I'd have said fire Dennis and promote Klint. Now, I'm entirely unimpressed.

I agree, but Loomis may be the bigger problem, it would make zero sense not to demote him (that is if it is indeed true that she can't actually fire him).....because he's the guy that was just fine with DA's help in dragging this franchise down straight to the gutter (sorry for the drama but not lyin').....but this is great news on a Monday morning....Cheers all

No, it’s completely the correct take. Mickey Loomis is far more powerful than every GM in this league apart from Jerry Jones. He absolutely had the authority to fire Allen and didn’t so.

Underhill has reported in no uncertain teams that Benson fired him.
If I was Loomis I’d be getting real nervous as there are 2 other former GMs in that building
