Breaking! Saints fired Dennis Allen (3 Viewers)

No, it’s completely the correct take. Mickey Loomis is far more powerful than every GM in this league apart from Jerry Jones. He absolutely had the authority to fire Allen and didn’t so.

Underhill has reported in no uncertain terms that Benson fired him.

Underhill reported that Gayle Benson spearheaded the firing. That doesn't mean Loomis didn't agree with it or fought her on it.

For the first time in 2 and a half years I finally feel hope and excitement for Saints football. It feels good. I was one that felt a change wasn't going to be made but to hear that a change has been made and on top of that it was Mrs. Benson's decision gives me hope for the future.

Yeah, I am not all that excited about him, but it is just an interim coach. His STs seem undisciplined as well. They consistently make bad decisions. However, at 2-7, I am kinda hoping for 2-15 and the #1 pick.

At this point, I’d like to see the team move on entirely from Payton coaching holdovers and start fresh with somebody who can look at every aspect of the team in a new way. Scheme, personnel, how they practice, game planning and prep, conditioning, all of it.

He deserves a chance to be a defensive coordinator again somewhere and he stabilized our defense after the disastrous mid 2010s. But the man's not a head coach and he never should have been ours.
Hell, I'd be totally fine with DA taking back the DC job here. When he just focuses on that, he's honestly one of the best in the league. That's where he should have stayed in the first place.

i get it. But some info ( locker room lost ) isnt "earth-shattering/source revealing"

Its corroboration of what many had seen, yet we are constantly told "not to trust our eyes" - by the very folks that HAVE access to info. So once they go down this path of not divulging info until green light given, fans will take exception. Im one.

He could have easily reported on this weeks ago when it was lost. Shoot, that may have sped up todays development.

I guess I don't have a problem with it because I think reporting those things only hurts the team. I'd rather he keep information that is from confidential sources that can hurt the team private.

Plus he did report on the locker room issues that occured last year. All this article did was add to the details of those issues. But he very much so reported that DA almost lost the locker room last year.

I mean in this instance it may have helped get Allen fired faster but in other instances it could hurt the team. And if he reports this stuff without the permission of the sources then he loses those sources. No reporter, especially one that only reports on one thing, is going to risk their sources for one story.

8-0 down the stretch Baby! :)
Hell no this season is over!
Lose out and take the best LOT available! Move Fuaga back to his natural ROT.
Then get some safety’s(HB is done), WR(Olave made need to retire), DE(Cam should retire and Young was a rental) and more Olinemen. Wait on QB in the draft until next year.
