The Saints Front Office at this point IMHO are doing exactly what they should be doing!! They need to shore up the D-Line, and Get Linebackers in here that can make plays and not get pushed around!! I think the Saints made the right call in NOT making a huge play on Asante Samuel due in large part to the fact the HE, (1 Cornerback) would NOT be the answer!! Samuel would get burned here too without any help up front!! His production went down severely when the Patriots D stopped getting the push it once did...(See Superbowl, and Eli having all day)..Samuel knew he needed to get the Fat contract NOW BC he KNEW that the patriots were getting OLD, and this was his shot!! He outsmarted the Iggles!! They will find out they overpaid, I mean why else would he take the first offer on the table...:dunno: The Saints FO knows that to get better, they will need another D-lineman to help put pressure on the QB...They know that in order to be strong up front they need LBers to fill the gaps, and if they can do that they will be ok at the DB position!! I am not saying you dont bring in some new DB's, but even David would look better if the Saints had Briggs, Vilma, and they could make a play for a possible trade UP to get one of the two big men in the draft!! Make NO mistake about it, if they got a Dorsey, or Ellis, added Briggs, and Vilma, the draft is DEEP with good corners and safeties this year...Go after maybe a Cason who is SEVERELY underrated, and will fall...IMHO he is one of the best Cover Corners in the Draft!! Then Try and pick up maybe some value picks late, possibly a potential 2nd rounder that falls to the 5th like Highsmith!! Trust me, he could learn from a GREAT core of LBers in Briggs and Vilma, and could fill in Nicely if they needed him!! Maybe go after another corner or safety, and possibly pick up a RB, and Receiver, or TE and this team is Stacked!! Trust me on this!!
