Remember the good old days, those years at the end of the 1980s when the Saints recorded the team's only three consecutive winning seasons?
In 1987, '88 and '89, there were two certainties surrounding New Orleans' pro football team: the head coach, Jim Mora, would somehow capture the nation's media fancy with a memorable, off-the-wall sound bite, and the Saints would not lose to an AFC opponent.
It was the golden era of Saints football, records of 12-3 (one game lost to the players strike), 10-6 and 9-7, and a 12-0 mark in interconference games.
