Saints hire Phil Galiano as team’s assistant special teams coach (1 Viewer)

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - New Orleans Saints Head Coach Sean Payton announced Tuesday that the team has hired Phil Galiano as the team’s assistant special teams coach.

Galiano comes to New Orleans with 19 years of coaching experience. In 2018 he served as the special teams coordinator/assistant defensive line coach for the nationally ranked Nittany Lions after having served as a defensive consultant for the school in 2017. Prior to working on Head Coach James Franklin’s staff, Galiano served for eight years at Rutgers University over three separate stints, the most recent of which were as the Scarlet Knights’ special teams coordinator and tight ends coach in 2015.

While at Rutgers, Galiano served in a myriad of capacities, including as the school’s recruiting coordinator, defensive line coach, linebackers and defensive ends coach. ...
