Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong says the return home of the New Orleans Saints American football team was the inspiration for their latest single.
Green Day and U2 recently teamed up to record a cover of The Skids' track 'The Saints Are Coming', which was released as a single in the UK earlier this month.
The single was released to raise cash for the Music Rising organisation, which is replacing musicians' instruments that were lost or destroyed during Hurricane Katrina. The hurricane hit New Orleans - flooding 80 per cent of the city - and other parts of Louisiana in late August 2005.
Armstrong said the two bands picked the track as New Orleans' football team are called New Orleans Saints
