The New Orleans Saints (5-2) travel to Tampa Bay (2-5) for an important showdown this Sunday against the Buccaneers. Those on the outside will most likely look at the records and make a premature decision on the game based strictly on the records of the two teams.
If it were only that simple.
While the two team's records are indeed exact opposites, the Bucs are a walking example of how thin the margin of error is in the National Football League is on a weekly basis. The team from Tampa began the season on a rough note, losing at home to the Baltimore Ravens, 27-0. The next week they ventured into the hostile Georgia Dome and lost 14-3 to the 'Dirty Birds.' They then returned home to face the 0-2 Carolina Panthers and were narrowly edged, 26-24. Following a hard-fought battle that see-sawed throughout, they were defeated by your very own Saints, 24-21, at the Louisiana Superdome on October 8.
