New Orleans Saints linebacker Demario Davis knows his life could have been much different.
Davis has written a memoir that focuses on the crossroads he faced in college when his team chaplain helped him turn around a life that had been checkered with football glory and run-ins with the law.
Davis joined Bobby Hebert and Kristian Garic on WWL Radio Tuesday night to discuss that new book, “The Unsuccessful Champion.”
“I could win a thousand Super Bowls or a thousand Pro Bowls and that would be all fine and great,” Davis said. “But at the end of the day, all I wanna hear is God say, ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant.’ I want my wife to say, ‘He was a great husband.’ I want my kids to say, ‘He was a great father.’ I want people in the community to say, ‘He had a major impact on my life.’ Because that’s what’s really lasting,” ...
