New Orleans Saints defensive coordinator Dennis Allen indicated during the Week 5 bye that second-year linebacker Stephone Anthony needed to develop an understanding of what the team expects on defense.

Coach Sean Payton on Thursday reinforced Allen's point of view, but added Anthony's playing time could eventually increase.

"Listen, just the consistency and I think he's going to get more snaps as we progress through this season," Payton said during a conference call. "I think the key, though, is just the awareness.
