The New Orleans Saints were actually having a rather quiet offseason, and that was welcomed after last year's mess of a season. Sadly, news from NOLA.com on Wednesday, June 12, 2013, shows that things just got ugly. Key free agent signing linebacker Victor Butler tore his ACL during Tuesday's organized team activities.
Butler is going to have surgery on his knee once the swelling has gone down, and he will most likely end up on injured reserve. That will put an end to his season.
The injury happened when Saints running back Mark Ingram caught a swing pass during practice on Tuesday. Ingram collided with Butler, and the linebacker stayed down on the ground. He eventually had to be helped out with trainers.
