On Wednesday the Saints will trade Louisiana's scorching heat and humidity behind for temperatures in the 70s and 80s while practicing five miles away from Newport Beach in Costa Mesa, California.
Sure, the weather swap is nice, as linebacker Demario Davis joked on Monday, but the change of scenery isn't the only benefit to conducting joint practices with the Los Angeles Chargers.
"It's always good when you can practice against somebody other than the same faces," Davis said. "Just get another look, different type of tempo."
