-- Broncos Likely to Host Olindo Mare --
Sun Mar 23, 2008 --from FFMastermind.com
The Denver Rocky Mountain News reports the Broncos will meet this week to address the hole left behind by PK Jason Elam signing with Atlanta. Many of the notable free agents already have signed with other teams, including PK Josh Brown (St. Louis) and PK Dave Rayner (Miami). The player at the outset the team appears most interested in currently is PK Olindo Mare, the long-time Dolphins kicker. The club was finalizing a visit this week with Mare, who's also being pursued by Seattle and New Orleans, with whom he finished last season. The Saints released Mare in February after the 12-year veteran flunked his physical and failed to agree on a contract restructure. Mare, 34, is recovering from a season-ending hip injury suffered last Dec. 10. He converted 10 of 17 attempts in 13 games before that.
