The New Orleans Saints and New York Giants scored a combined 101 points last year. Both teams improved offensively in the offseason, and the Saints had a banged-up defense.

Instead, the teams played a game mostly devoid of offense until the final quarter, and the Saints again lost in devastating fashion, as Giants kicker Josh Brown hit a 23-yard field goal as time expired to give New York a 16-13 victory at MetLife Stadium.

Drew Brees had an uncharacteristically inefficient performance, finishing 29 of 44 for 263 yards and one touchdown. The Saints attempted just 13 runs in the game.
