NEW ORLEANS — With San Francisco (9-1) ahead of New Orleans (8-2) and Green Bay and Seattle each tied at 8-2, the Saints may need to finish 6-0 to capture the No. 1 seed in the NFC for the playoffs.

After Carolina (5-5) in a noon game Sunday on CBS in the Superdome, New Orleans finishes at Atlanta (3-7), San Francisco on Dec. 8 in the Dome, Indianapolis (6-5) at home, at Tennessee (5-5) and at Carolina.

"Nope," Saints quarterback Drew Brees said when asked if he has thought about that. "Can't win six until you win one."

Actually, the Saints' best case finish is 7-0 as they won last week, 34-17, at Tampa Bay.

"I want to win one six times," Brees said. "There we go."

That could work.
