Saints new OT Foster is intriguing (1 Viewer)

Here's what I have been able to piece together on Foster's career, includin g his release from Atlanta and St. Louis.

After a good few games in 2007, he is injured and out for the year. (incidentally he was hurt in a game in the dome.)

Then he was put on the PUP list the next year for either that or another injury?

This report seems to suggest that he had not healed from the knee injury.

Looks like he was cut in order to make room for the Falcon's 5th round pick in 2008 draft (Garrett Reynolds). (Who has yet to play in a game BTW)

Here is a Rams pre-season preview that mentions him competing for a job with the team.

He was then cut by the Rams last month. Still not sure why...

The Saints scouting dept. is very good at finding O lineman ex. - Evans, Nicks, Streif. Let's hope this guy is another "find". Let's also hope he never has to play.

I hope for the opposite, only not in the first way you'd think. I hope that he performs so well in practice this year and training camp next year we have no choice but to find a slot for him to play.

Everything I've seen is intriguing, but the question is why was he released from both Atlanta and the Rams?

Could be a number of reasons. When someone is waived or cut it doesn't always mean they aren't a good player. Some systems don't suit all players. Ask any player/agent and they will tell you getting lucky and playing in a system that suits their strengths is very important when starting your career.
