New Orleans Saints news and notes for Sept. 25
By Brian Allee-Walsh, The Times-Picayune
September 25, 2009

Asked if Hamilton would assume Bell's role against the Bills, Payton replied: "I don't think that's accurate."
Payton declined to tip his hand when asked if reserve wide receiver Rod Harper would be active and take Moore's role as a backup punt returner.

"Potentially, " Payton said.
Thomas is expected to wear a less bulky brace on his right knee. He played on a limited basis against the Eagles after being sidelined the previous five weeks with a sprained right knee.

"Yes, he's getting closer to (being) 100 percent, " Payton said of Thomas.
CAT-AND-MOUSE GAME: The Saints' defense will face a no-huddle offense run by the Bills' Alex Van Pelt, who played quarterback for Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams when he was Buffalo's head coach from 2001-03.

"Basically they haven't huddled this whole year, " Williams said. "They try to keep the same package on the field. Occasionally they'll adjust a person. For instance, if they keep the same package on the field or (replace) someone on a deep route or something like that, then we have the response time to get somebody into the game, too, if we want.

"But if they keep the same 11 on the field, we have to keep the same 11 on the field."
