A total of 32 compensatory draft picks were rewarded to 15 teams this year, the National Football League announced, but the New Orleans Saints were not among that number.
Now, it’s shaping up that they won’t have any next year, either.
That is, according to NFL Media’s draft analyst Lance Zierlein, who has projected that the Saints will not get a compensatory pick ahead of the 2020 NFL Draft.
If so, that would run in line with a recent tradition of the Saints being left out.
The 2019 offseason marks the third straight year the Saints have not been awarded any compensatory selections, and they rank dead last in football in receiving just 10 over the past quarter century.
