Feeling MUCH better about DT now! 😅 IMO, it’s important dat we “win” on 1st downs, n have MORE 2nd n 9s vs 2nd n 6s.

If we can do dat, it’ll create more passing downs. In recent years, we’ve typically had “every down” DEs. But this year, I wanna “flip da script” a little. I’d love to sign/draft a pass rushing “specialist” at DE who can give us a lil more speed/pressure off the edge especially on obvious passing downs.

We’ll see.

*Edit: disregard, Foster Moreau has not signed with us. My mistake!

Won't be another TE with JJ, Trautman, and Moreau going into next season + Taysom stealing occasional snaps. We might bring one in late in the draft to compete with Krull, or a late JAG vet in the event of emergency, but that room is now pretty full.

WR and DT on the other hand...
I'd love to see us grab another mid level DT for the rotation in FA, draft a DT early, and then draft a plus athlete developmental DE (like YaYa Diaby) in the mid rounds to be our 5th DE and special teamer. Another mid level DT in FA pretty much shores up the roster for BPA in the draft, where the first few picks all have a solid chance of making an impact as part of a depth rotation (WR, DE, DT, RB, LB).

Yep…such an incredible weapon. There is a reason we have been trend-setters when it comes to the cap.

To literally have a guy in the building that used to approve player contracts at the league level is absolutely huge and provides us with the ultimate advantage. He knows all the ins and outs and what he can get away with.
