The New Orleans Saints centerpieces on offense — quarterback Drew Brees, running back Alvin Kamara, and wide receiver Michael Thomas — received plenty of praise from NFL.com deputy editor Ali Bhanpuri. Bhanpuri surveyed the NFL’s triplets and found the Saints were an easy fit for the top spot on his list. He struggled to identify another team with a top-five talent at each of the positions considered (quarterback, running back, and pass catcher).

To create his list, Bhanpuri ranked the top player for each team at each position 1 through 32, with points values for each placement (so the top-ranked running back is worth 32 points, and the runner-up is 31 points). Quarterbacks were given a 1.5-times multiplier to emphasize their importance.
