Saints pass D worse than Bills? (1 Viewer)

Ok let's try again.

Yardage and YPA not adjusted for sacks, interceptions, and passing TDs are inferior stats to use to judge a passing defense.

Defense Passer Rating is good because it takes into account TDs and Ints, but Adjusted Net Yards per Passing Attempt (Pro-Football-Reference) is even better as it takes into account TDs, Ints, and Sacks.

Defense Passer Rating:
Saints: 1st
Bills: 18th

Adjusted Net Yards per Passing Attempt (ANY/A)
Saints: 7th
Bills: 18th

Neither team is particularly bad, but saints have had a top 10 passing defense over the past 2 games.

Example:

QB Stat Line #1 [54.9 Passer Rating]
500 yards - 25 Completions / 60 Attempts - 2 TD - 4 Ints - 3 Sacks for 15 yards

vs

QB Stat Line #1 [130.6 Passer Rating]
300 yards - 25 Completions / 30 Attempts - 2 TD - 0 Ints - 0 Sacks

The D allowed more unadjusted yardage for QB 1, but QB 1 had a worse game than QB 2. Therefore, total yardage < QB Rating or ANY/A

While statistics can prove almost anything, most neutral observers agree the Saints have improved their DBs to the point they are solid and deep, in both cover and tackling areas.
One thing does bother me, though. In the Eagles game, with less than 45 seconds and the Eagles with no timouts, we let Kolb throw and complete a handful of passes to the sidelines, stopping the clock and eventually kicking a field goal. Why weren't we forcing him to throw to the middle of the field to run out the clock?

When your up by 2 td's the whole game that happens in garbage time because teams are having to become more one dimensional. Edwards will have a few picks in this one, our secondary is legit.
