The New Orleans Saints didn't need to look far for a defensive back who could help on special teams in place of injured safety Erik Harris.

Cornerback Brian Dixon was promoted from the practice squad Thursday, according to a source. He will take the roster spot of Harris, who will go on injured reserve after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament in practice on Monday.
