NEW ORLEANS - New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees came back Sunday from a thumb injury that sidelined him for five games.
And it looked like he never left.
Brees completed 34 of 43 passes for 373 yards and three touchdowns in directing the Saints to a dominating, 31-9 win over the Arizona Cardinals at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. He did throw an interception and appeared to have fumbled, but that was ruled an incomplete pass on review.
Other than that, he looked in mid-season form and left the game early as backup Teddy Bridgewater finished the game. Wide receiver Michael Thomas caught 11 passes for 112 yards for the Saints with a touchdown. ...
