New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton was waiting for Garrett Grayson on the sideline after the backup quarterback's first snap Thursday night.

"He wasn't happy," Grayson said. "He kind of got after me a little bit, and rightfully so. I threw an interception that went to the house, so can't do that."

Playing all but the first three offensive snaps of the first half, Grayson had a decent performance in the Saints' 34-22 loss to the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium. He was 10-of-16 for 133 yards and an interception, and he ran to the corner for a 2-point conversion. And on an 80-yard touchdown drive that gave the Saints a 16-8 lead in the second quarter, he went 4-for-4 for 72 yards.
