The New Orleans Saints shuffled a roster spot on Dec. 31, per Nick Underhill of the Advocate. The Saints re-signed defensive back Josh Robinson and waived offensive tackle Cornelius Lucas a week after releasing Robinson to make space for Lucas.
The team wanted Lucas on the roster for their Week 17 finale because of the injuries at left tackle: starter Terron Armstead and backup Jermon Bushrod were each held out due to their ailments. His absence would suggest that either Armstead or, more likely, Bushrod, could be close to returning to practice soon – the Saints do not play again until they host a Divisional Round playoff game on Jan. 13. ...
