If Rankins is actually ready to go, that man rehabbed like a beast. I just hope it isn't too soon and will give the new medical staff and Payton the benefit of the doubt here, if this is the case. They haven't screwed anything up since the Delvin Breaux doctors were fired.

That's what I was thinking. Smith and Kirkwood both went out against the Rams. They'll activate Carr but that's still just three receivers if my math is correct. Stallworth will be back next week unless he gets poached, but I'm sure we gave him the wink wink nod nod treatment. I think he'd prefer to remain with the team that made him a big part of the defense as an UDFA rookie.

I'm surprised by this move. Either they are bringing up a WR or bringing on a 4th QB for the next six weeks. The timing with Drew's surgery announcement isn't coincidental.

Yeah, I don't even really count him as a receiver at this point. He's pretty clearly a specialist who earned that roster spot by being that good on ST.

ETA: Carr is pretty short too, isn't he? I don't know how I'd feel about having two small receivers as the starting 4. And the only reason we can roll with just 4 is because Kamara is so good that he eliminates the need for a fifth to go five wide.

Disregard. He's listed at 6'1". That's not small but it isn't exactly big for a WR either.
