I hope for Johnson's sake a team signs him. If not it wouldn't be a surprise to see him back in NOLA at some point sooner or later. The staff has used him off and on now for 4 years, and thought highly enough of him to add him to the practice squad after being cut this season.

That said, I don't think there's any fault with the Saints going with Kuhn. He had a few nice plays (along with some less than good ones, sure) on Sunday, and the staff seems content with his veteran presence and ball-handling skills in certain situations. Given Kuhn only played 20 snaps, keeping another FB on the practice squad is essentially pointless in this day and age.

I liked Johnson, and thought he brought a nice bit of athleticism to the position, but that's the way the NFL works in 2016 when it comes to fullbacks.

With Johnson's blocking ability and receiving ability, why wouldn't the Saints use him at tight end I always thought he would be a good fit.
