After finishing 26th in total yards allowed in 2007, it's no secret that the Saints will be looking for some younger players -- either in free agency or the draft -- to make an immediate impact on their defense this season.
At the same time, they're in need of any help they can get, which is why the team brought in established veteran middle linebackers Dan Morgan and Zach Thomas for visits last week.
As vested veterans, both can make visits and entertain offers prior to the start of free agency on Feb. 29 because their contracts were terminated by their previous clubs. Morgan was released by the Carolina Panthers, while the Miami Dolphins terminated the contract of Thomas, a seven-time Pro Bowl selection.
