TAMPA, Fla. — The last time the Tampa Bay Buccaneers met the New Orleans Saints, on Oct. 8, they left the Superdome feeling a little cheated.
Well, maybe not cheated, but unfulfilled after a good performance.
First, Reggie Bush’s 65-yard punt return gave the Saints a 24-21 lead. Then, the Bucs moved inside the Saints’ 5 — and in range for a game-winning TD of their own — but the play was erased by a penalty.
In their rematch Sunday, there were no late theatrics. The Saints dominated for 54 minutes in a 31-14 victory, leaving befuddled Bucs coach Jon Gruden to talk about his choice of wardrobe after the game.
