Unheralded Strief handled sudden promotion well against Tampa

The New Orleans Saints had a lot of players perform at a high level in Sunday's 31-14 blowout of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but one in particular was the talk of the locker room and the Raymond James Stadium press box.
Players and media couldn't stop talking about rookie left tackle Zach Strief, a seventh-round draft choice, after he made his NFL debut by keeping three-time Pro Bowl defensive end Simeon Rice away from quarterback Drew Brees all day long.
When it appeared that Strief would be active for the first time this season and start in place of an injured Jammal Brown, Brees expressed confidence in the 6-foot-7, 349-pounder — who was a right tackle at Northwestern and was selected with the 210th overall pick in the draft this spring.
