NEW ORLEANS —

It's a tradition unlike any other, New Orleans Saints rookies trying to eat crawfish.

The Touchdown Club held its 47th annual Super "Boil" in Harahan Wednesday.

Close to two dozen rookies took part in the event. Some of the rookies, Erik McCoy, Alize Mack and Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, weren't rookies at eating crawfish. However, the Saints Sixth-round selection, Saquan Hampton, and seventh-round selection, Kaden Elliss, had them for the very first time.

The rookies and the rest of the veterans will finish the first week of Organized Team Activities Thursday.

I still don't know how to eat crawfish. First time I tried them was at the Greenbrier in 2015. The meat was brown and mushy. Recently I tried them again and I had no clue how to eat them. Didn't come across white meat like I've seen in videos lol.

Brown and Mushy? Maybe they were dead well before they were dropped into the boil? And they likely weren't cleaned properly, either, if they were brown. Or maybe they were overcooked, as well.

Maybe because the crawfish were in a pasta jambalaya sauce?

Aren't they a little small to try to tackle. Hard to have the right form. Haha.

If you tackle a crawfish, you can tackle a 210 lb. RB coming straight at you going 16 mph. [Said like Patches O'Houlihan from Dodgeball]
Yes! That was the idea I had in my head when I started my post, but didn't quite know how to get there.

Thank you for creating my vision!
