The 2020 season sure is looking like the end of the road for New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees. Sure, he signed a two-year contract extension earlier this summer — but his return in 2021 really complicates an already-tough salary cap situation, which would be easier to navigate if he retires after 2020. And he has a broadcasting job with NBC Sports already waiting for him.
He’s put together as strong of a Hall of Fame resume as you’ll find in the NFL over the last two decades, doing his best work with the Saints, and it’s earned him all-time great recognition. But have the Saints done everything possible to build a supporting cast that can get him over the top, and win that elusive second Super Bowl ring?
