Running back Pierre Thomas' 34-yard touchdown run with 9:45 remaining gave the New Orleans Saints all the offense they would need to post a 27-7 win over the Buffalo Bills Sunday.
After averaging 468 yards and 46.5 points per game in the season's first two weeks, inclement weather and a stout Buffalo Bills defense held the Saints in check for most of the contest.
Early in the fourth quarter, New Orleans took possession clinging to a 10-7 lead and on the heels of back-to-back three-and-out possessions. A Buffalo facemask penalty and a 12-yard pass from Drew Brees to Reggie Bush moved the ball into Bills territory.
