Speed was more of a concern in the old SP offense where the vertical passing game was more prominent. Now though it's all about getting the ball out fast so pass catchers need short area quickness to create early separation.

Trautman seems to have an abundance of short area quickness and I'm sure SP will take advantage of that. SP isn't going to ask him to split out wide and run go routes all game. If Trautman can get a handle on the playbook and catch the ball I'm sure he'll be fine.
