The New Orleans Saints signed veteran linebacker Jason Trusnik, a source familiar with the transaction confirmed Wednesday morning.

USA Today was the first to report the signing.

Trusnik's arrival bolsters depth at the linebacker position and special teams.

The 6-4, 241-pound Trusnik, 32, entered the league in 2007 as an undrafted free agent out of Ohio Northern University with the New York Jets.

We continue to sign players who really only contribute on ST and the ST is still bad. Maybe Sean should look at the coaching this offseason and revamp the staff.

We're probably a shoe in to make the playoffs now.

No, no, but now we can pass on the blue chip Vic Beasley type line backer with our 9th pick and take some Left Tackle know one on the draft shows has ever heard of.

I think he's finally past his nepotistic threshold. If McMahon isn't gone this offseason, next year is really going to be the last we have Payton as head coach.
