Marcus Sherels is leaving the Vikings after nine seasons.

A source said Thursday the free agent cornerback and return specialist will sign a one-year deal with the New Orleans Saints. Terms were not immediately available on Sherels, who made $1.4 million last season with the Vikings.

A source said the Vikings looked to bring Sherels back but he wanted to go to the Saints because he believes they have a good chance at winning the Super Bowl. About a half-dozen teams were in the mix for Sherels

Return specialist mostly, he has a lot of speed though..I bet SP could get him involved in offense ? Huge improvement over tommy lee lewis. I know the Ingram and Unger loss hurts but if it’s true we’re signing Jared Cook I’m liking this team a lot
